| Introduction | I am a Catholic woman, mother of two daughters who attend a Catholic school. Both my husband and I attended Catholic grade and high schools. I have been an active participant in my parish. When I grew up, my parents and their friends, always referred to the parishes in which they grew up. You would think Chicago had parishes and not neighborhoods. Recently, I read an article that mentioned as Catholics we don't seem to discuss our parishes. I started this blog to discuss what I see as a person sitting in the pew. I've expanded it a little to somewhat include writing exercises. I am not a theologian. I'm not writing to discuss dogma and doctrine. Sometimes, I sound like I am whining too much, but I feel that we may need to look at what our parishes are doing and how they are doing things. Sometimes, I have an odd way of looking at things. |
