| Introduction | I grew up in Lauderdale rather like a small town incorporated in 1949, which is now a suburb of Roseville but was Rose Hill at the time. My Mom was the cook at my school, Lauderdale School and my dad was head gardener in the Horticulture Dept. at the U. of M. He was employed there for 47 years. We also had a greenhouse business for 35 years which I really didn't appreciate at the time, but miss now. I must visit the Como Park Conservatory or another greenhouse in order to get my green "fix" every now and then. I'm from the stock of "down to earth" old fashioned good hearted, kind, hard working people. |
