| Introduction | CEZARY TOMASZEWSKI Born in Warsaw in 1976; director, choreographer, performer and musician. Author of an award-winning, unique version of Lehar’s operetta Merry Widow (best young director and best alternative theatre production in Austria in 2009, according to Theater Heute and Falter) with four Polish female cleaners in the cast, as well as a famous staging of Monteverdi’s madrigals, m.m.m. Bar.ouque celebration with Capella Cracoviensis, presented in a Kraków bar. Tomaszewski’s other original projects, including Last Temptation of Saint Bernardette, Dance Tetralogy, Strawberry Muffin, Hamlet based on Shakespeare or opera stagings: Handel’s Amadigi di Gaula and Rossini’s La Scala di Seta, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, have been presented in theatres and during festivals in Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. As the choreographer he cooperated with Maria Peszek at the video clip “Rosol”, which was nominated for Fryderyk award in category video clip of the year. Tomaszewski has been invited to take part in exchange and scholarship programmes for young talented artists: IDEE, Expedition and TURBO (Vienna, Amsterdam, Paris). |
