Industry Arts
Occupation Marketing Director/Graphic Designer
Location Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States
Introduction I'm the last kid of 5. A yankee-neck. Born in Illinois raised in Kentucky. Makes for a lifetime of explaining an accent. Married. I'm the proud parent of 6 animals-3 cats 3 dogs. AND NOW as of 5/05.... a sweetie pie of a daughter. Fortunate to have siblings and parents with decent taste in music. Jazz, classical, classic rock, new wave and punk for the most part. Fancied myself a "waver/punk" in high school. Then I found out how "hippie" I was in college. Reconciling with my post-vegetarian, lost-ball-in-the-woods life and new parenthood. Currently working seasonally at your favorite bookstore and freelance...whenenver possible. I also volunteer locally so that I grow in experience and so I'm feeling like a part of my community and giving to those who have given so much to me.
Interests music and lots of it, fiction, poetry, writing, graphic arts software, hiking, camping, Chicago, people, pets
Favorite Movies Tired of the lists so here you go....So many! First in a theatre was The Jungle Book...excellent. Real big on the indie's, cults and foreign's. Just saw Elephant and The Cooler. Both pretty good. Quite a movie snob really. Have to give kudos to some past co-workers Mike and Dave for turning me on to Donnie Darko. To think they could come up with such a gem after extolling the virtues of Dumb and Dumber?!
Favorite Music Echo and the Bunnymen, David Bowie (old stuff I think), Billy Bragg, Clash, Psychedelic Furs, Concrete Blonde, Liz Phair, Strokes, Vines, White Stripes, Mel Torme, Fred Astaire, Ruth Brown, Generally jazz of the 60's. That's a taste.
Favorite Books Deep Within A Dream Story of Chet Baker, Turquoise Days the Weird World of Echo and the Bunnymen. Waiting: Joan of Arc by Mark Twain, About Face (typography), Inventing the Abbotts and Other Stories... etc.
