Introduction Hi there and a very warm welcome to my website. Thanks for visiting. Any way back to me, me and me! I'm from London but now live in Sydney, Australia. I adore Sydney and for me it is where I am happiest. Great to escape the rat race and enjoy warm sunny weather. Yes I love London but at this stage in my life this is where I belong. I know it's a cliche but I am honest, loyal and trustworthy. I always mean well. A special hello to my best friends Keenan and Faz. I work for various radio stations as a news reader and reporter. I've been doing this for several years though properly for three years since I took my postgrad in broadcast journalism. I sing as well. I am usually quite a shy person so singing is my escape. I find it a great emotional release and very therapeutic. I just hope the audience feels the same way. So come along for a karaoke session. I promise I won't make you sing. Well probably! I sing anything from cheesy pop such as Peters and Lee to heavy rock a la AC/DC. It's all such fun. Finally, I love travelling having spent much of my time in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Interests Singing, karaoke, clubbing, travelling, sport, keeping fit, going out with mates, politics, show business and having loadsa fun!
Favorite Movies My favourite movie is the Australian film Looking for Alibrandi. It's about a girl in Sydney coming to terms with Australian and Italian identities. It's a great film full of emotion from comedy to tragedy. I must have seen it at least 12 times since I first saw it on a Qantas flight from Perth to Johannesburg. I also like the French comedy of teen angst La Boum. Great sountrack. Another wonderful French film is The Red Balloon. Simple yet stunning.
Favorite Music I have very broad tastes and it's so hard to name so many in such a short space but here's a few for starters. My favourite singer/song writer is Peter Allen. He is pretty unknown in most of Europe but is very popular in the United States and Australia. He was the first husband of Liza Minnelli. He wrote so many songs including I Go to Rio, Don't Cry out Loud and the Oscar winning Arthur's Theme. All is songs are about his life and I find them very poignant. They convey every emotion and I can listen to them all day. Listen to Don't Cry Out Loud and Tenterfield Saddler for prime examples. He sadly died in 1992. Thanks Peter. I also love the Australian rock group Cold Chisel which were fronted by Scottish-born Jimmy Barnes. You can often catch me singing their hits Khe Sahn and Working Class Man. I also enjoy AC/DC simply for their stamina. I went to see them with a friend a few years ago and I became an instant fan. Another talent from very different genre I like is 1972 Opportunity Knocks winner Bobby Crush. He hails from a very British era of variety which I greatly miss. Above all this piano playing talent doesn't mind taking the mickey out of himself. As I say I like so many singers and groups. Everything from Peters and Lee and Demis Roussos to rock to disco.
Favorite Books I like factual books and biographies for instance I've recently read a book on why people believe in superstition and I have also just completed British comedian Alan Carr's autobiography.
