| Introduction | This week Berkeley proposed sending a letter to the USMC Officer Recruiting Office calling them "uninvited and unwelcome" in our town. We are concerned about the basic wrong-headedness of this City Council, and want to encourage other quiet people like us to go ahead and say that they support the right of the Marines to be in Berkeley, as representatives of the government, the all-volunteer military, and as citizens entitled to the same free-speech rights they protect for those who protest. This blog is dedicated to those who serve Berkeley, and the USA, with professionalism and restraint |
