| Introduction | After my second son was born, I decided to take a break from my career as a TV writer to focus on motherhood. Although rewarding on so many levels, I soon discovered that being a stay-at-home mom was not only hard work, but it left little time for me to be creative. A friend soon introduced me to the art of jewelrymaking. I instantly fell in love with it! After years of experimenting and giving loads of free jewelry away to family and friends (much to their delight!), I finally decided to start listening to what many of them were saying, “Why aren’t you selling your designs on the web?” I really had no good answer. Why wasn’t I? So, I took a website design class, studied the business aspects of selling my jewelry on the web and got my designs into a really cool and kitchsy shop called Handmade Galleries.
