| Introduction | I have a Bachelors Degree in History from Kennesaw State Univ., and graduated in May 2007 as an adult. After graduating, I worked with the Cherokee County Historical Society to write "The Canton Cotton Mills: A Pictorial History", a book that chronicles the history of Canton's two textile mills through photos and documents. I am now working with them to write another photography based book that contains images from the Buddy Alexander Photograph Collection. Buddy Alexander was the main photographer in Cherokee Cty., Ga. during the 1940s until the 1970s, and his collection of 1000s of negatives and photographs was given to the Society by his widow. This book will show the many facets of life in Cherokee Cty., Ga. through the viewfinder of Mr. Alexander during those years. |
