About me

Introduction What does "bogul bogul" mean? In Korean, this is the sound a boiling pot would make. Like "ruff ruff" is how a dog barks, "bogul bogul" is how a delicious stew boils in a pot. I am a Korean-American, but my knowledge about this cuisine is very limited. Unlike most women, who learn to cook from their Mothers or Grandmothers, most of my knowledge comes from TV, cookbooks, the internet, scraps of information I would pick up from social gatherings, or just guessing & experimenting. My own Mother never had the opportunity to learn the traditional recipes before she and my Dad came to the US right after they wed. Fortunately, she has taught me the staples such as dwenjang jigae and kimchi jigae... But I would like to venture further into this savory world. Everything in this blog will be about whatever I find interesting about Korean cuisine, recipes, photos, etc.
