| Introduction | Most of my working life has been spent in the sewing industry, doing everything from theater costuming to pattern drafting and leading workshops.Now that my offspring have fledged and I work less it's time to do more of my own thing. Personal sewing, designing and sewing preschool clothes (love those oh so cute togs), years over due attention for the garden, cooking and last but not least travel. I love coming from a heritage of makers. Making do by being creative and using your wits. There were no patterns or recipe books, you learned by helping and using what you had on hand. It's the way my Mom and wonderful old Aunties learned and so what I grew up around. My way of life. Whether in the sewing room, kitchen or garden inspiration and creativity start off every project. Problem solving coupled with practicality edges it towards reality. Hmph! That all sounds too dreamy. The reality is that I dream something up, figure out how to do it and once in a while I may even make it. I'm thrilled to have a way of sharing the twisted path from the excitement of inspiration to the pleasure of making it happen. |
