About me

Gender MALE
Introduction I started wargaming in about 1971 (scary - I've now been doing this stuff for over 30 years!) with Napoleonics & WWII; as a callow impoverished 11 or 12 year old this was with Airfix using Don Featherstones rules from "Wargames". After a brief flirtation with girls and beer (about '77 if I remember - the flirtation continues with beer, but I’m now married!), I've continued playing ever since. I went from WRG 6th Ancients (with Minifigs, and Mikes Models figures) to DBA, using those same figures. In '89 a really good friend of mine (John Corrigan) gave me a huge number of painted 25mm AWI Minifgs. Since then, WWII North Africa fires have also been re-lit & I collect Minifigs 12mm German, Italian and Commonwealth troops. Most recent projects include War of the Spanish Succession in 15mm (my wargaming buddy DG gave me all his 15mm's when he decided to go a different scale!) and Colonials - specifically the Sudan campaigns. Recently, after 20 years of windsurfing, I've also just bought my first boat, "Papillon", a Robert Tucker designed Fantasie 19 which you can also read about here – throw in the odd concert, and a pleasant pint (of beer) and I’m amazed I have any time left!
