| Einführung | I started wargaming in about 1971 (scary - I've now been doing this stuff for over 30 years!) with Napoleonic's and WWII; as a callow impoverished 11 or 12 year old this was with Airfix using Don Featherstone's rules from 'Wargames'. After a brief flirtation with girls and beer (about 1977 if I remember - the flirtation continues with beer), I've continued playing ever since. I went from WRG 6th Ancients (with Minifigs, and Mikes Models figures) to DBA, using those same figures. In 1989 a really good friend of mine (John Corrigan) gave me a huge number of painted 25mm AWI Minifgs. Since then, WWII North Africa fires have also been re-lit , I collect Minifigs 12mm German, Italian and Commonwealth troops. Most recent projects include War of the Spanish Succession in 15mm (my wargaming buddy DG gave me all his 15mm’s when he decided to go a different scale!) and Colonials - specifically the Sudan campaigns. Recently, after 20 years of windsurfing, I’ve also have a boat, ‘Sparrow’, a Hurley 20, which you can also read about here – throw in the odd concert, and a pleasant pint (of beer) and I’m amazed I have any time left! |
| Interessen | Military history, classic rock, some new rock, beer (real ale or what my American friends call craft beer, and my French neighbours call Biere de Garde), reading, cycling, sailing, windsurfing |
| Lieblingsfilme | Apocalypse Now, Shawshank Redemption, Last of the Mohicans (Daniel Day Lewis version), Lord of the Rings (all of them), Last Samurai, Waterloo, Cromwell, Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, Gettysburg |
| Lieblingsmusik | Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Taste, Hendrix, Cream, Deep Purple, Joni Mitchell, Crosby/Stills/Nash and Young, Neil Young, Mozart, Handel, Puccini |
| Lieblingsbücher | Too many to list... :o)) |
