| Introduction | The HERO program was started in December 2010 and serves the animals in our community who are most desperate for a helping hand. Many of these animals have owners with limited financial resources, and through the HERO program, we are able to help ensure these pets receive the resources and care they need to stay safe, happy, and healthy. We are able to offer: food assistance to keep animals from going hungry, low-cost spay/neuter or veterinary care, shelter and straw for appropriate outdoor housing, relief from being chained, Trap Neuter Return for feral cats and dogs and advice for behavioral issues. We are dedicated to helping Kansas City become a No-Kill Community by 2012. |
