Introduction Phoenix born artist Breeze, began painting street art in 1993. Having been brought up in two separate worlds(The city of Phoenix and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Reservation), Breeze experienced the balance of beauty and absolute chaos in both environments. Through painting with aerosol in the streets of Phoenix at a young age, Breeze found an outlet to filter intense emotions and aggression by speaking through art on the walls, and later on canvas. Today, his art is a mixture of intricate abstract design work, inspired by graffiti art, as well as traditional Tohono O’odham basketry and ancient HoHokam (HuHugam) pottery designs. Breeze’s work continues to evolve, bridging his past to the present and growing into future. Aside from being a large scale muralist, canvas painter and traditional gourd maker, Breeze is also a teacher to the youth and feels it necessary to pass along inspiration and knowledge to young people searching for their creative spirit.
