Occupation Missionaries
Location San Pédro, Côte d’Ivoire
Introduction We serve with Baptist World Mission in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa. Our ministry is church planting and includes teaching, witnessing, kids’ classes, piano, and helping wherever needed. Dan and I (Joan) do visitation every week and feel strongly that it is during this one-on-one contact that most people are saved. My main ministry is our home. God has blessed us with 12 beautiful children, whom I home school. They range from 20 years old to 3 months. The older 7 know French fairly well. Ruth and Hannah played the piano and taught classes at 2 churches. They are going to the Philippines in the fall to work in a mission clinic and to learn midwifery. Seth plays the guitar, teaches a boys’ class, and preaches in the English church. Lydia and Susanna take care of the nursery, and are ready to substitute teach when needed. I also teach a ladies’ class or a French literacy class every week. Other than that, I try to keep up with the dust or the mud, keep food on the table, laundry and diapers in the drawers, and keep up with correspondence. Isaiah and Stephen are finishing the 6th grade and are learning French and piano as well. The other five little ones are just cute as can be.
