About me

Occupation Journalist
Location Wicklow mountains, Ireland
Introduction I started this blog in April 2010 to continue a discussion on Irish food stemming from the book I co-authored earlier that year - "Basketcase; What's happening to Ireland's Food?". The blog covers many food related topics from GM potatoes to growing your own veg, to discussion of animal products used in wine making. I hope that anyone who loves food and particularly locally-sourced and Irish food will get something from the blog and contribute to the discussion on how we can put food producers and not large retailers at the centre of what we eat. I'm a former producer of RTE's farming programme Ear to the Ground and currently report on RTE radio's Countrywide, Drivetime and several other radio and television shows. I also write in the Irish Farmers Journal, The Irish Times and The Irish Independent on food and farming issues. I hope you enjoy it and please contribute and leave your comments good, bad or plain scary. Happy eating x
Interests Food is my main interest. Horses are my main way of ridding our household of any extra cash
