| Introduction | The word servant is very precious to me because in Greek the word for servant is diakonos, or deacon. I've been ordained, into the ministry of servant hood for more than nineteen years now. I have been changed by the people that I had the privilege to serve. I consider my ministry, as a practice, much like other professionals do. I have been practicing being included with people and their families when they have needed a servant the most. I have been permitted to rejoice, cry, and yes even laugh, next to people who yearn for someone to be there beside them. All of us are on a journey, and I have been blessed to accompany so many on their final few steps. |
