| Introduction | What really defines us as people? For myself, should the definition come from the fact that I retired from the Army with over 20 years of operational military experience, or that I am a person who has a passion for running (with the most rewarding marathon so far being in Istanbul)? It could be based on the facts that I am lucky enough to be a husband to the most wonderful person I have ever met, is a very proud father to three amazing grown up children or a grandfather to a fun loving little girl. It might also be based on the voluntary work I do for an incredible charity that helps young people & adults with a range of learning difficulties, or my love of animals, or indeed my strive to continually improve myself through meditation. Actually, I am all of the above, and it shows in my outlook on life; I am also an empathetic, mindful and compassionate person who has a love for humanity and animals. Having seen the very best and worst humankind has to offer in life, my aim as an author is to write novels that have multiple layers of depth covering a range of thought provoking and challenging issues - with the proceeds from each book going to charities relevant to each one. |
