Introduction Initially starting life as an Artist (not a very good one I have to admit) then a student of history for many years, I have managed to combine both by living in Normandy. I left the stressful life of an investment broker in 1990 and took up the less stressful life of restoring centuries old French Manoirs (hmm. I may have got that last bit the wrong way around). I've restored several towered 4-500 year old buildings to their former glory but my huge passion is - and always will be - flying. My Spitfire just pushes every button I’ve got and if visitors sometimes glimpse me buzzing the Manoir its only to reassure Jaye that I'm actually still alive (she refuses to fly with what she calls 'White Knuckle Airways'). Archery and Blackpowder muskets form another passion and the nearby hamlet often reverberates to the sound of musketry - and occasionally we even fire the cannon! My rare visits to the UK puts into stark contrast the difference in the speed of life between such near neighbours. Here I take the dog for a walk and hardly see another person let alone a car - whereas in the UK I seem to join a queue as I leave port!
Interests Flying my aircraft, restoration of historic buildings, shooting black powder, archery, history, Art, animals.
