Introduction Hi. I enjoy fiber arts from raising the wool to selling finished products. I am especially interested in very soft wools. Having raised English angora rabbits for over 25 years, I like to blend angora with other fibers to make a soft yet wearable yarn. I am especially fond of angora/silk/kindly shetland/alpaca blends. As a retired biology teacher of 34 years, I enjoy genetics and try to apply them to develop the animals which can supply my fiber needs. I still enjoy teaching and demonstrating at historical reenactments and have recently become involved in designing and making quilts from Civil War reproduction fabrics. I also do Native American bead work and quill work. I also enjoy making jewelry, especially beaded cabochons. I am always interested in learning new techniques in almost any area. I have been raising sheep for many year but have just recently switched to Shetlands. I am fascinated by their colors and the fineness of their fleece. I take great joy in watching the lambs in the spring.
