| Introduction | The girl you sat by in the KBS bus today. The one that didn't bob her head to the music or care too much for your small talk instead gave you a crooked one sided smile and seemed to ignore you only once in a while looking up from her book or phone to gaze past you, to the trees racing by.The one who said thank you to the bus conductor after he gave back her receipt and change. You remember her because her outfit was nothing special but she had a great scent on. And she told you to have a great day as she asked you to excuse her as she hurried to alight, a curtsey, you being Kenyan found really odd.... Yeah, her. You really should have tried harder to get her to talk to you because you would have met the witty,unconventional, audacious but socially awkward, book worm, street smart, sensible albeit pessimistic Cancer surviving author of this candid (I would hope funny at times) you-didn't-see-it-coming or ever-dare-to-imagine-hearing-someone-voice or write, account of living . That girl then, the girl across from you now, yes her, she is me. |
