| Introduction | Hi, I'm Stahly, founder of "Tale of Painters" (originally Stahly's Paint Station). You may also know me from various forums and Brückenkopf (the biggest German tabletop website). I live in Hamburg, Germany. My first contact with the hobby was when I was 11. My local toy store stocked some GW models and paints and I bought my first White Dwarf (German issue No. 20). I was instantly hooked by the creative side of the hobby. I started with some Space Marines, Ultramarines to be more precise (surprise!). My first army comprised a lot of "statue marines" from the 2nd Edition box as well as a Rhino, a Whirlwind and some bikes. I have to say the painting was atrocious :D It took some years and tries with several armies such as Imperial Guard and Orks before my skills started do develop. It was due to the golden age of the internet and its tutorials and some Citadel Masterclasses from WD that I am now where I am. At the moment I have a rather large Ultramarines army (over 3500 pts) and a respectable Eldar Warhost of Saim-Hann (about 2000 pts). My current project is 2500 pts Skaven army, my first try in Fantasy actually. |
