Introduction I work with the Deacon Care Family Ministry & the Deaf Ministry at my church, Mount Pleasant in Baltimore. I am also the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Development at UMBC and the Director of PROMISE: Maryland's Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) -- a program that trains graduate students at UMBC, UMB, and the University of Maryland College Park (sponsored by the National Science Foundation.) PROMISE increases the numbers of underrepresented students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields. I work with students across the U.S. and Puerto Rico (Universidad Metropolitana, University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez), at conferences (e.g. National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Chicano & Native American Scientists, GEM GradLabs, American Indian Science and Engineering Society.) I am an active, avid user of social networks. I update my facebook and Twitter sites almost daily. My blogs suffer a bit because I only update them periodically. Microblogging however, works very well for me! Feel free to follow me on Twitter:
