| Introduction | Welcome to The Harlequin Book Club. I’m Alex. I am an aspiring PR practitioner and an avid bibliophile. I like to read anything and everything, from memoirs to history books to true crime mysteries. My guilty pleasure is romance novels. I’m talking the pink-bound, passion-filled, total fantasy, sometimes hilariously worded Harlequin novels that most people generally dismiss as complete fluff. Do I think they’re great works of literature? No. But they’re not all bad. I’ve read hundreds over the years. They’re my favourite dock books at the cottage and great airplane diversions. I love how princes always come on white horses, knights always wear shining armor and passionate glances are the norm. Love at first sight isn’t a myth; it’s an undisputed eventuality.
