| Introduction | I'm a cute Ghananian lady teaching French at Klein Forest High School. My goal is to instill the speaking and learning of French in my students. Is French a foreign language? YES & NO. Why the 2 answers? Yes because students in the state claim they do not hear or see anybody speaking French. No because about 1/2 of English words derive from French(cognates). Have you watched the movie "Deja Vu"? What does it tell you? Well, what about the following word/expressions: prof, resume, bebe, cafe, fiance, possible, restaurant, camouflage, coup d'etat, a la carte, a la mode......? If you know these words and even more; then French is not foreign. Let's roll!! Allons-y!! |
