About me

Occupation retired registered nurse
Location Ontario, Canada
Introduction In the 1980's while employed as an ICU nurse I began having neurological symptoms then severe depression and anxiety after losing 30 pounds in 5 months. I became too disabled to work. 15 years later, after starting Chinese herbal medicine Bi Yan Pian for sinusitis, debilitating reactions to fragrances and chemicals developed. A diagnosis of "Environmental Illness/Multiple Chemical Sensitivities" was made. In Sept. 2011 Bi Yan Pian was recalled by Health Canada due to high mercury levels (mercury causes sinusitis). Reviewing symptoms, it is clear mercury toxicity was behind earlier neurological problems and likely even childhood effects. A Naturopathic doctor recommended a "dental toxicologist" who advocates removal of amalgams (silver fillings) to get all mercury out of the body, and a detoxification program of supplements. There are many variations and conflicting opinions. I am researching all these things and sharing my experiences here.
