Introduction	This is a project initiated by Jamie Boys in 2007 that will span over 7 years. Each exhibition has been assigned a bracket of seven years of human development, C.I.U.C. Series-1 (0-7yrs), C.I.U.C. Series-2 (8-14yrs), etc. With each passing year the C.I.U.C. group acquires a new artist, so, that by the 7th year, 7 artists have joined and continued with the project until the final show. Each year the newest artist of the group is performatively initiated on the opening night of the exhibition via the Cashmerie Sacred Initiation (C.S.I.). The central theme of this project critically and sometimes humorously deals with the acquisition of raised status through competition and consumerism. The consecutive exhibitions each address the processes in which we might or might not gain the necessary life skills to adapt, survive and maintain a competitive edge. It's where the underclass tries for a slice of the cake, the wealthy maintain elite social status through aristocratic extravagance and lavish absurdity, but all in all, it's about making it to the top, looking good and getting there fast (or not).
