Gender Female
Industry Engineering
Location Northeastern Arizona, United States
Introduction A Different Kind of GEKE Gretchen writes steampunk that is heavy on ballroom intrigue she describes as "Downton Abbey with Gadgets" and urban fantasy set in the real world with a supernatural twist. When she’s not writing, she works as an environmental engineer, which she considers getting paid to research her STEM characters. She has authored hundreds of technical documents and published several short stories in anthologies and magazines. In her spare time, Ms. Engel skis, runs, and travels, always looking for a good montlorry tour of rugged places or a good place for coffee and tea. She calls herself a coffee drinker but has an equal love for tea. She lives in the mountains of Arizona with her husband, two children, and a trio of lucky black cats.

What would you wear for camouflage if you were hiding in a gingerbread house?

A gingerbread brown turtleneck and pants with light brown boots. Of course if it has typical gingerbread wallpaper, I will cover myself in multi-color starlight mints. I'll blend in and everyone knows that gingerbread hags can't resist those things. She'll be so busy eating them, that I can peel off a few and escape.
