Introduction | I have been certified as a personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise for nearly twelve years, and am committed to providing guidance to others on fitness issues. I am a graduate of the holistic nutrition program with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In addition, I am also a competitive marathoner. I am committed to help others with their fitness and nutrition goals, and firmly committed to what I call the Big Four: good nutrition, appropriate cardiovascular exercise, weight training, and stretching. |
Interests | New York City history, politics, gay equality issues, good literature, and spirituality. This blog concerns my own experiences with health and nutrition issues, with the extra twist of covering NYC history! I read books voraciously, and always have at least a dozen new books on my “to read” list. I am now working part-time on legislative issues for a member of the New York State Assembly, and am part of the Speakers’ Bureau for the group called Marriage Equality New York. Finally, I am surrounded by a wonderful family and caring friends. I have two daughters (both vegetarian!) in college, and I am proud to report that both are very socially conscious and committed to contributing to society. One daughter will join the Peace Corps in October 2010 and the other tentatively will spend her second summer working for an animal advocacy group. |
