| Introduction | This project grew out of a project conducted in the South Burnett region in 2008/09 between Alice Brown of the USQ Queensland Health and Graham House. That project was The South Burnett Early Movement and Stimulation project. It aimed to engage local parents and service providers to better formulate strategies to effectively translate important new ideas about child development into practice. We wanted to understand how local parents and service providers understood ideas about attachment and bonding between parents and infants. The first version of the Connecting With Kids Cardswas a offshoot of that earlier project. We have had so much good feedback about the cards that we are seeking to further improve the cards and to put in place a sustainable cost only distribution system that will make sure the cards are available to those who want to use them. |
