| Introduction | Hard Girl (Appalachian for "hired girl", though I kind of like it's tough chick implications) works in support of small farms and sustainable food systems, toward better policy and practice, with a particular focus on farm-to-school projects. Originally from the Appalachian mountains of Southwestern Virginia, she now lives in Seattle, Washington with her partner Kolya and baby Calamity Jane.
