Introduction I started swimming at 3 and by 4, I was on the swim team in Delaware. At 6, I won the state championship in the 25 yard free and set a record time. I grew up boating with my family on the Chesapeake. I continued swimming competitively and was awarded a 4 year swimming/water polo scholarship to UNLV. I received a degree in Hospitality Management and moved to Carmel, CA with Hyatt Hotels. I was living the dream a block from the beach and surfing the coast. In a year, I moved to Palo Alto. I started sailing the SF Bay with friends in 1983. Picked up windsurfing in ’84 and fell hard for the freedom I felt as I skipped across the bay. In 2000, I purchased a partner boat that we owned for 17 years. I loved sailing the bay on our Newport 30. In 2017, I purchased a 40’ Jeanneau for a cruise to Mexico and back. With 2 crew, we spent 7 months cruising the west coast. Our southern most port was Zihuatanejo. 2000 miles south! It was an epic voyage filled with friends, family, beautiful anchorages and amazing wildlife. We had the time of our lives! I have since retired and sail several times a week on Aquarius and love being on the SF Bay with my dog Hana and friends.
