| Introduction | Hi! My name is Cathaleen or CataLina or Lina. Welcome to my blog! I work with the Guatemalan Ministry of Public Health as a Preventative Health Technician in the Highlands of Guatemala, near the Mexican border. I work in a village where 100% of the population's first language is a Mayan language called Q'anjob'al. There is a lack of sanitation education and sanitary infrastructure. My primary job is to do hygiene and sanitation education. The secondary goal is to do sanitary construction for the neediest families based on a sustainable development model that requires individual and community contribution. I would like to think I help develop the community's confidence and belief they have the capacity to improve their own lives. If mud is dirt plus water, what is clay?
DUH! Clay is finer dirt plus less water. All I know is that it is non-absorbent and has lots of minerals.
