About me

Introduction I have been a student of the Civil War since my first trip to Gettysburg National Military Park at the age of nine. Since then, I have been enthralled with the most tremendous struggle in our nation’s history. I currently attend Shepherd University and I have a major in History with a Concentration in Civil War and 19th Century America. I have volunteered at Antietam National Battlefield since October 2011 and have since dedicated my time to the studying of the Maryland Campaign of 1862. In addition, I am currently in the process of becoming a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Antietam. I hope that this blog will serve to bring to life the battle that was fought along the banks of Antietam Creek that bloody Wednesday, September 17, 1862, and provide a more thorough understanding of what each brigade, North and South, experienced during the bloodiest day in American history.
