Introduction Author Philip R. Morehouse was born in the mountains of upstate New York, where he started his life's training and adventures on a family owned farm. Through his youth, he was mentored by his grandfather who taught him how to fish, trap and hunt, skills that proved crucial to the family's survival. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Navy, where he received more survival training and later found himself serving on a ship that was involved in the Cuban Blockade during the Missile Crisis. Later his ship would standby to rescue Americans from Haiti during the Dominion/Haiti Crisis and later he'd serve an extended hitch due to the Viet Nam War. After returning home, he married, and served in the Army National Guard where he was deployed on several photography assignments. Among his many other jobs, he has worked as a professional writer and photographer for over 35 years.
