| Introduction | Yelena Konetchy dances and creates new works in Contemporary, Ballet, Modern, various plays and Musical Theatre. She has set choreographies in Big Range Dance Festival 2012, Austin Shakespeare, Sea Born Cruises, and Crank Collective’s musical ‘Cabeza De Vaca’ at the Long Center. Yelena's professional performance background ranges from early modern and contemporary works to ballet, including seasons with the Illinios Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, and Thel Dance Theatre as Company Manager. She trained extensively in the Vagonova technique under Andrei Bossov from the Kirov Ballet (Mariinsky Theatre), and has worked and studied under Sally Bliss of the Tudor Trust, Monnette Garcia of Alvin Ailey Company, Grace Holmes from San Francisco Ballet, and Lori Belilove of the Isadora Duncan Company in New York City. Yelena Konetchy is also certified in Vaganova ballet pedagogy by ballet master and teacher John White and in Beginner Lester Horton technique under Ana Marie Forsythe. In Austin, she continues to teach Ballet and Modern at Tapestry Dance Studios in addition to performing and staging new works. |
