| Interests | My critical studies and close analysis of film as a powerfully persuasive medium have made me all the more aware to the hidden movies in our mind -- those unconscious audio-visual feedback loops that have such a hypnotic hold on us. In as much as we constantly project our subjectively inflected view onto the world, so does film mimic our perceptual and mental apprehension of reality. The moving image is a carefully masked cinematic illusion that portrays the complexity of human psychological experience through a variety of seemingly invisible as well as highly stylized strategies. Similarly dreams are intricate mental edifices in which unconscious conflicts are disguised by the dream's manifest symbolism. |
