| Introduction | I am a 5th generation Tennessean and my mother, who was a teacher, was born in Blount County and worked at Calderwood and Townsend. Although I was not born here, I have a long family history with Blount County. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Maryville College in Computer Science/Business. I remember when J.C. Penney was downtown, when it moved to Midland shopping center, when they changed the streets to be one way downtown, when the mall was first built on what used to be farmland. I have a history here in Tennessee and Blount County. I’m married with 5 children. My children have all attended schools here in Blount County and 2 of them continue in the Blount County School system. Most of our children attended and graduated from Lanier Elementary School. Since redistricting Nathan only attended kindergarten there. He is now at Carpenters Elementary. I hope you will support me as your district 6 School Board Representative, and I promise to listen to your concerns and make decisions after studying the data. I will be honest and open with you, because at the end of the day, I live and sleep here and my conscience will not let me be otherwise. Thank you for your support. |
