About me

Gender FEMALE
Location south-central Indiana, United States
Introduction I live with my woodsman husband in south-central Indiana, where the first wave of hills flows out of the flatlands. As a volunteer with the local Writers Guild, I coordinate a reading series and work with others to offer free poetry workshops to the public. I am the grateful recipient of a National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship in poetry and a Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center scholarship. My first book Light into Bodies was named as the winner of the 2016 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry (University of Tampa Press, 2017). You’ll find my recent and forthcoming work in The Southern Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, Ninth Letter, Zone 3, Alaska Quarterly Review, Pleiades, Bat City Review, an anthology of contemporary Indiana writers, and elsewhere. I have a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology and an MBA, worked as an electrical engineer, software consultant, and project manager, and more recently earned an MFA.
