Introduction	Living in Spain for a year right after college, I fell in love with the country and its people. Spanish people seem almost indifferent to the influence of capitalism that drives so much of what we do in the US. While at times this can be frustrating, it's also super refreshing. They're driven instead by friends, family, and culture, including the traditions that surround the preparation and enjoyment of food (I would never have imagined that people could take such genuine pride in the way they serve ham!). More than anything, I'm continuously amazed by how open and friendly the people of Spain are... never too busy to make new friends or spend time with old ones.
