| Introduction | An early training in art and a lifelong love of geology and earth materials led me to become a sand painter. As a geologist, I have traveled extensively and have had the opportunity to bring back rocks and sand from a variety of places. The varied textures and colors of the sand inspired me to experiment with sand painting. These early experiments quickly grew and friends and family have supplemented my sand supplies so that now I work with a palette of more than a hundred sands! I have been fortunate enough to win several awards and to have my work featured in several galleries and shops.
