| Introduction | I have been in the education field for 26 years with the majority of those years in special education. My passion for special education has inspired my journey to venture into different districts, states and even countries. Having worked in the school system, I am aware of the many challenges involved in navigating the special education system. I believe all children deserve to be given the support they need to reach their full potential. Through my many years working in special education as a teacher, as well as evaluating children for special education, I have seen the difference an experienced and strong advocate can make in ensuring these needs are being addressed. It is also important for families to be aware of laws that are in place to protect children with special needs and how to advocate to make sure the laws are being followed. I believe that the next chapter in my career in education is meant to help families ensure that their children are receiving all the services they need to support their growth to meeting their full potential. |
