Introduction Slow Food is the big, fancy, worthwhile movement to encourage us all to eat in anti-fast food fashion. I interpret it as: Sit down for dinner. Eat seasonally and locally. Avoid fast food, chain restaurants, prepared food. Eat real food that makes you happy. Cook with your loved ones. That's our goal-so we struggle to juggle work and picky children and busy schedules and the lure of the TV and the couch and try to really make it happen, at least a few nights a week. I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest with a brand spanking new husband, a dog, some cats, two girls, and a house that is chronically messy but usually full of good food. I would always rather read, eat, or cook than clean.
