About me

Industry Agriculture
Occupation NFU Policy Adviser
Location Norwich, United Kingdom
Introduction I'm Alex Dinsdale, an environmental policy adviser for the National Farmers' Union in Newmarket, Suffolk. Geographically, my work covers the East of England.

I'm fascinated by soil and water, their interactions, the influence of land management on them and their role in agriculture. I'm particularly interested in ways in which improved management of soil and water can help to address the challenges facing us all – climate and environmental change, population growth, biodiversity loss, resource constraints and increasing demand for food. This interest is not confined to the UK but to both developed and developing countries across the globe.

I have set up this blog as a record of interesting articles I come across on soil, water and farming. I hope that it may be of interest to those who read it, but it will also serve as a database for my own reference.

This blog is a personal one and in no way connected to the NFU. Views and opinions are my own or those of the authors/editors of articles, reports and features which I cover.
