| Introduction | My name is Karen and I am an international student from Brunei Darussalam. I recently completed a Masters of Health Promotion and will soon be job-hunting. In my experience, the biggest challenge about university was maintaining that balance between my studies and pretty much everything else in life. I think it’s important to always remind yourself of your priorities and reasons for undertaking university studies. I am vouching for the lecturers and tutors at Deakin in providing their absolute best efforts to helping their students succeed. While at Deakin, I loved meeting people of different nationalities and cultures. It’s though as I’ve travelled to different parts of the world and these friendships have changed my life immeasurably. I agree that sometimes it is a difficult task to approach unfamiliar faces, but all friendships begin with a smile and a “Hello”. Be yourself and have fun! On a personal note, I guess I am just another ordinary girl making the best out of everything in life. I also have a strange interest in creating home-made beauty products from anything available in my pantry!! |
