Introduction It all began in 1968, when the company, already a successful fruit and vegetable retailer, decided to invest in a 20-Acre smallholding at Dargate, near Faversham in Kent. Although little more than a hobby for us in those days, the business expanded and changed alongside our customers and consumer demands, and today we farm in excess of 3000 acres in Kent. This has given us full control over the end product, and complete traceability. In the beginning, of course, we did not think of ourselves as visionary when we initiated this 'seed to shelf' philosophy. Today though, with increasing media, consumer and government attention on food safety, it puts us a step ahead of the industry. When we started it was the only a practical way to guarantee the integrity of the produce. Nearly four decades later, Mansfields is committed to the very highest standards. Our harvest teams pick only the choicest produce and then prepare and pack them with care. So no matter what the customer specifications we can meet their needs!
