Introduction | While a PhD student of political science at Columbia University's Harriman Institute, in 1993 I sustained a TBI in a tractor-trailer crash, which eventually brought about an end to my marriage with a Russian wife. As a result, my pre-existing manic depression was made much worse. Since then I have explored conventional and alternative treatments for both brain injury and bipolarity and have discovered many useful cures. Though I also ran into some quackery, I recovered much of my language ability. Now happily remarried, I have written a book, Just One Bad Decision, and am testing the waters of blog-dom and social entrepreneurship. |
