| Introduction | The new innovative hiphop soul singer Al Chauncy owns the cadence of Ron Isley, Notorious BIG, and scarface rolled into one. He is the son of Jazz/Rock n Roll pianist Gerald "Jerry" Williams who was the apprentice of Duke Ellington for a short period of time. Al Chauncy was born in North Carolina and begun his musical career professionally at the age of 17 with a group of rappers and singers by the name of Bloodline. Bloodline gained a short lived buzz in the music industry in the early 2000 era of Petey Pablo. Riding off the buzz of being from North Carolina they were proclaimed to be the next fugees in the making. After the folded deals with Priority records and Ruffhouse/Judgement that never saw the light of day, the group disbanded and went their seperate ways. Al Chauncy grass rooted his movement in NC on his own and was proclaimed and respected as The Carolina Mayor. During his Grind in North Carolina he was nominated for best rap artist in the 2009 NC underground music awards; in the same year he graced the Mixtape of Southern Smoke DJ Smallz NC Cushers Vol.1. He now resides in Atlanta and currently hold the songwriter/artist role with Area 51 Music Group |
