| Introduction | I started out writing this blog and the start was a bit stuffy - A blog about disseminating vegetarian information, doing informational talks, interviews with other Black Vegetarians. Now don't get me wrong The Brick City Veg is about giving all of that to the people! But... I had to remind myself that in the middle of all that information, the reason I started this blog is to tell my story! My story of being a Black Vegetarian in the Urban City of Newark, about living my life truth's, each day rediscovering the power inside myself and most of all helping others. So this time around, we are gonna have some fun! :-) I was born in Newark, raised in the suburban city of Orange, and found my way back to Newark as an adult. This city is so VIBRANT with culture and its melting pot of people and experiences how could I stay away! I am a Wife, the mother of 2 adult children, 1 teenage child and Nonna(Italian for Grand Mother) to the beautiful Morgan. I want you to see the greatness and possibilities that Newark NJ holds and come share in life vegetarian life with me. |
