| Introduction | Mine is a story of burnt-out professional helper to joyful professional plant nerd. I have a BA in Child Development from Mills College and spent 15 years working with special needs children & at-risk families as a Child Development Specialist and Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. I made a midlife career change to horticulture and have never been happier. I've studied organic farming, home horticulture, horticultural therapy and floral design. For 7 years I worked in the retail nursery and floral design arenas. In 2015 I opened my own business The Gardening Goddess. I provide garden design, edible gardening consultation, gardening workshops, and horticultural therapy.
