Introduction As I write these words in the Fall of 2013, mom has been dead for 3 months. I made her care my life’s work these last 7 years after retiring from 38 years at Ford, and now yet another phase of my life is to begin, although I know not what. I shall be patient, not anxious. I will do what must be done, and ask for His guidance, even as I have since that pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 1987. It was then that I first said: “I quit. I’m done trying to live my life, and failing. From now on, You plan. You show me what to do and where to go. You lead; I’ll follow. I promise.” And life from then on got better. Whether in the midst of a long phase of our life, our vocation, or on the cusp of a change, talking to him, keeping Him focused on me and me on Him, will ensure we walk together. What more could we ask of life? If you wish, follow me on this journey; I enjoy friends. Perhaps we both may find some new paths.
